How End-to-End Encryption (E2EE) Actually Protects Your Conversations

Privacy by Mathematical Design

Standard transport-layer encryption (HTTPS) only protects your messages between your device and the server. If the server is compromised or subpoenaed, your unencrypted messages can be read. End-to-End Encryption (E2EE) solves this completely.

The Mechanics of E2EE

Asymmetric Key Pairs: Each device generates a public key (shared openly) and a private key (which never leaves the device).

Device-Level Encryption: Messages are encrypted on the sender's device using the recipient's public key; only the recipient's private key can decrypt it.

Zero-Knowledge Servers: The messaging server acts merely as a blind courier delivering encrypted payloads it cannot decrypt.
