What is the Text & Code Diff Checker?

Boad Tools Text Diff Checker is a fast, accurate, client-side utility to highlight additions, deletions, and character-level edits between two text snippets, code files, or documents.

Why use client-side diff checking?

When working with sensitive source code, configuration files (.env, AWS configs), confidential legal documents, or private notes, uploading your data to remote cloud servers poses severe security and privacy liabilities.

Boad Tools diff checker uses the classic Longest Common Subsequence (LCS) algorithm running 100% locally in your browser memory. Your confidential code never leaves your device, guaranteeing instant response times and absolute data privacy.

How to use this tool

  1. Input your texts: Paste your initial content into the left "Original Text" box and your updated version into the right "Changed Text" box.
  2. Select View Mode: Choose Split View for side-by-side comparison or Unified View for a single consolidated patch.
  3. Tweak Options: Enable "Ignore Whitespace" to overlook tab/space discrepancies, or toggle "Case Sensitive" to ignore letter casing.
  4. Inspect Inline Edits: Changed lines automatically highlight the specific words and characters that changed in darker emerald green or rose red.
  5. Copy Patch: Click "Copy Diff" to copy the standard unified diff output directly into your clipboard.

Frequently Asked Questions
